What Happens To The Price Of A Share When A Company Reduces The Number Of Outstanding Common Shares?

A web user asks, I bought stock in a company that performed a 10 for 1 forward split. The company has now applied to have the number of outstanding shares reduced. Will this reduction affect the price of the shares?
