What do you think of a Finance Major and a political science minor?
A web user asks, Hello experts,
I am a senior at college. I am majoring in finance, and interested on pursuing an MBA in investment. However, I have one class left for me and i would have a minor in political science. So my concern is Will I be better off with a politics minor? or would it be the opposite? I mean would it help after i graduate and apply for job
Can you help them out? Post your advice!

Hello, M; this answer is from a former corporate recruiter in the US. The finance hiring managers who have given me instructions would generally not care about the difference between political science and politics as far as your coursework, unless the content could be related to investments, i.e., political science studies concerning an area of investment interest. They would likely be more enthused if you had language studies relevant to the area, though.
A far more important factor is your academic performance and class selection in graduate school. You might consider developing a target employer list and tailoring your classes toward their recommendations – contact a hiring manager or Human Resources Manager – hiring managers loved it when a bright student asked for recommendations – we always passed inquiries to them.
Good luck!
