Can I cash a government check that was issued in a different state?

A web user asks, It is a government issued check for North Carolina..
I just moved to Oklahoma and I don’t have a bank account but I need to cash this check? Will I be able to cash it at a convenience store or maybe a check cashing place?

Can you help them out? Post your advice!

You can go to a check cashing place, but you will need to pay a fee, and sometimes a percentage of the check in order to cash it. It does not matter what state you are in when you cash the check so long as you show a valid identification card that is not expired.

Sure you can, and if you have family you cn take it to a bank and have them cash it with NO fees..

A check cashing place will take out a stiff fee….
